Our school is a small town High School far from big cities. My Robotics class consists of 16 students of diverse ethnicity and mostly lower economic background and 9 of them are 9th grade freshmen. Each year we compete in First Robotics Competition. Special thanks to Mr. Dean Kamen, The founder of FIRST Robotics Competition for creating this amazing platform.
"Believe you can and you are half way there"- US president Theodore Roosevelt , I personally believe in this quote and My students believe it too.
They become excited when they saw they build a system or robot that walking, grabbing tools and doing different activities. My students recently showed different vex robots they already built in an event of Elementary School. I still remember they gleefully, enthusiastically demonstrated robots with little supervision because they are passionate about building robots. They are intelligent, goal oriented, motivated, good listeners and good followers too. Now they are excited to Build First Robotics competition Robot by using their imagination, knowledge and skills. Unfortunately we don't have enough school fund available to buy most of components of our Robot. I am worried because of inadequate funding may be we won't finish our big Robot.
This is my First time applying for fund on this site as i recently hear about this platform and amazing community. Our school lacks in adequate funding for Robotics as it is a small town school. We tried to raise our funding by selling pizzas and Chocolates but we couldn't raise that much fund. We need Robot chassis, battery, aluminium bar, pipe fittings, compressor , cylinder, solenoid valve etc to build a good FIRST Robotics Competition Big Robot. Our final robot will be nearly 125 pound 30 inch by 30 inch robot. We already have draft design of this robot. We bought some drilling, grinding and cutting tools. But we need equipment and materials. As big robot materials and equipment cost are high, our school can't afford those. Our students already started building their robot by disassembling previous year robot but that's barely enough for a good robot that they want to build.
Our robotics students are good programmer, good designer and good builder as some of them already learn ROBOTC and LabVIEW programming from different websites and YouTube and Now they need the equipment and materials to build their Dream robot.
People live by their dream. I wish my Robotics students dream will come to fruition. But without your help, we can't accomplish this big task. Thank you for reading our request.
