As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with copious amounts of challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things intriguing and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Physical Educations plays a vital role in students' development and growth.
My students need to experience the full journey that Physical Education can bring to them.
They need to learn about all 3 domains, psychomotor, cognitive and affective.
My Project
Speed stacks is a hot tamale in Physical Education classes lately. Students that normally don't show much enthusiasm for P.E. are now standing out as leaders in Sport Stacking activities around the world in their PE classes. Sport Stacking is very beneficial to the students in my school. Sport Stacking would be a wonderful activity to take to the classroom when we lose the gym space for different events that go on at our school such as, picture day, student testing, and also seminars. Sport Stacking would make a difference right away for our school here in Harlem, New York
For the athlete and non-athlete alike, regardless if you are instructing eighth graders or kindergartners, sport stacking can be a great enhancement for your fitness routine.
Sport stacking shows an increase in academic achievement. Students who cup stack show more concentration and higher test scores. Cup stacking works both sides of the brain as the students cross their "midline" of their bodies which develops new connections to he brain. Being a renewal school, test scores are very important and showing growth in our students is mandatory or we could have the terrifying thought of our building shutting down.
I know from your support with funding and getting our school Sport Stacking cups my students will benefit tremendously.
