I teach 2nd grade in an amazing school full of wonderful students! I have worked very hard to instill a true love and desire of reading in my students.
As the climate of education changes so does the need for student reading material.
Nonfiction is critical in today's education setting as is meeting the needs of male students.
My students have a love for reading and I want to continue to provide quality books with many themes, genres and interest levels.
My Project
This project will put a variety of informational text into the hands of my second grade students. I will give them the opportunity to expand their vocabulary, their interests, and hopefully get them excited about reading.
All of my students, but especially the male students, struggle to find quality books that are engaging and keep them wanting to read.
My hope is that through this projects ALL readers will be begging for more.
My students all have book boxes dedicated to their specific need. Many times students are arguing over one or two specific titles. This project will provide multiple copies and a wider variey
