My Students

My sixth grade special education classroom has 30 students that come from bilingual households and receive free lunch. As a whole, our school serves students in grades K-8. We provide students with a safe, positive, and friendly learning environment that also challenges students and motivates them to reach academic levels that they never thought they could reach.

My student population mainly consists of auditory learners, and a simple, technological tool, such as earbuds, would make a world of an educational difference!

My Project

We are required to use iReady, due to its individual and educational effectiveness. It is very hard for my students to successfully complete a math or reading lesson because they simply cannot hear what the program is saying. Without earbuds, students cannot receive the one on one reteach of what their academic weaknesses are. Sadly, my students end up randomly selecting answers as a means of completing each lesson because they are discouraged due to not being able to hear what the "electronic teacher" is saying. Please help my students receive earphones to regain the motivation and interest needed in order for this amazing program to productively be put to good use!
