Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are taught the values and skills necessary to succeed in a diverse and ever-changing global society. We strive to create an atmosphere of high expectations and joyful learning where students are encouraged to work together, take academic risks, think critically, and pursue successful careers and higher education. We strive to convey and instill in our students the knowledge and experiences they need to live happy, healthy, and productive lives. We work to be the best people we can be and make them successful adults.
My Project
After visiting the Ron Clark Academy and watching Ron Clark teach- I knew I needed to have a red button moment like his students do. When his students answer a challenging question or persevere through a hard lesson, one student is allowed to hit the red button. The red button turns on party lights that flash and the students have a 30 second dance party. I asked for the two party lights to bring that experience to my students as well.
I then asked for the air pump/compressor because in order to complete our room transformations, I need an air pump to fill all of the life size inflatables.
These will be used for the candy land room transformation along with the Jurassic park one.
I asked for a class audio enhancement microphone so that students can hear me no matter what part of the classroom they are in. I do not believe in completely silent classrooms and I believe this will help all students hear what is being said. This will also help the students when they are presenting. This will help to project their voices.
Lastly, I asked for a pencil sharpener. I asked for this because no matter how much I clean out my current manual pencil sharpener it does not sharpen pencils like it should.
