I work in a wonderful School-wide Title I school in a low income community. Our school is full of hard working staff that are dedicated to insuring the best for all of our students. I teach in a departmentalized grade level, teaching math, science and social studies to two homerooms. Our classroom is a full inclusion classroom, so students have a wide range of abilities and strengths.
Due to the diversity of needs in the classroom, the students have benefited greatly from small group differentiated math instruction at their levels.
Because of this wide range of learning capabilities, my classroom needs a variety of resources to make sure I am able to provide them with whole group and small group instruction that will help them to grow and succeed at their individual levels. Our students love learning and are engaged by using a variety hands on materials, technology and differentiated resources.
My Project
I teach in a departmentalized inclusion classroom providing instruction in math, science, and social studies to two homerooms. Storage places in the classroom are limited and I do not want students to waste valuable instructional minutes getting up and down to get supplies stored around the room. These Seat Sack pockets are a great way for students from the second homeroom to keep their materials organized and close at hand. Students can take pride in a neat and organized classroom and will be able to better focus with their materials organized and easily accessible.
Teaching students organizational skills will benefit them throughout their school career and lives.
The Seat Sacks help reduce the visual clutter that may be distracting to students, by keeping all their important supplies in one location.
