My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
Many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing practice assignments at home because of lack of supplies and resources. I really want to be able to give my students the opportunity to work more on computers especially in an age where science and technology is a driving factor for student engagement and something that students really need to learn to navigate.
My Project
In our classroom we have so many different papers and files (worksheets and fun mathematical sheets) it is hard to store all this information. We would like a scanner to organize all our worksheets and student work to put it online for our students to have access to the work they do, as well as the work of others. In mathematics there are so many different paths to solve a problem, so when one student has a strategy we would like for the rest of the class to share it as well. Getting a scanner will benefit us by allowing us to easily scan and post papers online and never lose students work. Having a scanner available to us would allow us the ability to scan student work as it comes in. As teachers we like to refer back to student work and we don't have a way to duplicate their work in order to display it to other classes or future students, a scanner would allow us to do so.
When having presentations in class the students need to be able to present their work, scanning their papers will allow them to explain the path to how they got their solution.
They can have a digital copy of their work and can create a nice PowerPoint.
Side functions of the scanner would be to organize the worksheets in one file where the other teachers can upload their sheets as well and having them available to all students in the building. Please help us help our students keep successful and organized.
