My Students

I am the school counselor for one of the most amazing schools full of the most incredible eager learner. Our school has a bilingual program with about 90% of our population being Hispanic with more than 50% receiving free or reduced lunch. We are a Title 1 school. with a large portion of the student population being classified at-risk.

It is my passion and purpose to ensure that all of our children have their social-emotional needs met.

This is done through guidance lessons.

My Project

I have been using Nearpod for the last few years to do weekly whole school Social Emotion Lessons and my monthly guidance lesson.

Nearpod makes the lesson interactive and the students love it.

The lessons have covered subject such as the 7 Principals of Happy Kids, Growth Mindset, The Power of Yet, Vision Board, Gratitude, Giving, Kindness just to name a few. Each lesson has a video and questions for the students to answer.

They loved all of the lessons during the free trial, but once that ended we, only had access to the free version of Nearpod which is limited.
