Nearpod Gets a Thumbs Up From Students

Help me give my students another year of Neapod. We have enjoyed having lessons that everyone can see and participate in whether in the classroom or learning from home.

My Students

My students are inquisitive and intrigued with any new item I bring into my classroom. They ask me daily about the progress of projects we are beginning such as our aquarium or plants we grow, or I bring from home. If they make an observation that something has changed since the prior day, they make sure to point it out.

My students are taught to collaborate, state their opinion with evidence to support it, and respectfully disagree with their peers citing evidence.

This begins as early as the 4th grade, when they learn to stand in front of their peers and speak.

Recently a student was watching the snails on the side of the aquarium. She asked me what the clear jelly things were on the side of the aquarium. Instead of telling her what they were, I asked her what she thought it was. I want my students to do their own research on these and other questions instead of relying on me to be the sole source of their information.

My Project

Nearpod has been a wonderful tool to allow all students to easily see what is being presented. With students moving in and out of the classroom due to COVID disruptions, we are still able to have everyone see and participate with our lesson whether in person or via Zoom.

Nearpod allows me to chunk the lessons by presenting information, inserting videos to supplement the topic, and keep students engaged with questions and collaboration.

With money being allocated to purchase student devices, funds for this resource are just not available. Your donation will allow me to continue to use Nearpod in my classroom.
