As a middle school teacher in a very low-income school, I see that my students are faced with many challenges that occur in and out of school. When students come to our school, they feel comfort, safety, and stability that they may not have at home. The students I teach love to receive positive praise and attention. I want to be able to provide my students with a safe, positive, and meaningful academic environment.

Over 65% of my students receive free and reduced-price lunch. Most students come from immigrant families and live in a low socioeconomic community. These factors may have a huge impact on the students' academic success as well as being exposed to experiences that build background knowledge.
When students enter my classroom, I believe it is important to focus on the growth and potential that each student has. I try to instill in my students that everyone can be a leader no matter what background you have or where you have come from.
My Project
Our school has recently gone back to remote learning after being in hybrid learning for 2 1/2 months. It is important we feel confident that our lessons will work in any environment. Regardless of device type or availability, the same lesson can shift with your plans. NearPod remote lessons will allow my students to work at their own pace all while tracking their progress as a teacher.

As we quickly move into the second semester of the school year with still so many unknowns it's going to be great to have additional resources like Nearpod that will continue to keep kiddos engaged. Also, having the Zoomy will add a great deal of engagement once we are back to our hybrid learning where students will be able to share information with this interactive microphone.
