This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
In my classroom, we share LOTS of stories. I share stories about my adventures abroad, and the AMAZING animals I've been able to see. A few weeks ago, we were reading a current event article about Sudan, the last northern white male rhino, sadly died. My students were enraged and saddened that this had happened, and wanted to do something to create a curiosity and engagement in protecting our planet. Therefore, we are hosting an engaging and fun Earth Night!
My Project
My students will be able to experience wild animals and begin to understand how people in Cincinnati impact wildlife around the world. My students will be able to commit to making changes to their environmental behaviors. Through doing their own research, presenting, and communicating with professionals in the field, my students will be able to learn about multiple conservation topics and their impact on those topics. This will help students understand how making small pro-environmental changes in their daily life will positively impact the entire globe.
My students will begin to truly understand their impact on the world around them.
