My students need a green screen and video recorder to allow them to create projects that make history amd government come alive through video based projects.
We have military families, special education students, gifted and talented students, English Language Learners, and students from a variety of cultures and religions. Many of my students are movers; they can't sit still. My students deserve every opportunity possible to succeed. They thrive on community interaction, positive reinforcement, and choices. They must have access to state of the art knowledge to prepare them for the careers of tomorrow, something not every student currently has.
One of the great things about having so many diverse students is the unique perspective they all bring to our conversations.
Our school community is comprised of students who can speak over 30 different languages, students who have lived outside of the US, students who have challenges we cannot imagine, and students who refuse to give up.
My Project
This green screen and camcorder will allow students to take information that we are learning and make videos based on historical figures, historical sites, art or government. With software that is already available to us, the students will history and technological education when they learn to change the green screen into anything and anywhere the imagine themselves. The locations from which the students can be broadcasting from and about are as endless as their imaginations.
Students will be able to report on battles while virtually standing in the middle of the battle or report on a debate in Congress while standing on the floor of the Senate.
This technology will bring history, creativity, and the performing arts together, making for a fun, hands-on, student-centered learning environment. It will allow lessons to be both meaningful and memorable. I can only imagine the creative projects that my students will come up with and the memories that will stay with them.
