As a teacher of special needs students in multiple grade levels in a low-income/high poverty Title I school in Delaware, my students are faced with many challenges on a daily basis in and out of school. They come to school to work hard in an environment that embraces their learning challenges and helps them succeed.
Throughout the day, I teach my students to become independent thinkers who will do the right thing in challenging situations..
They continually support one another creating a inviting learning community where they feel comfortable taking risks.
My Project
These resources will be used by the students as they learn at home through the Covid-19 pandemic as we all are quarantined at home. Notebooks will be used for reading, writing and math activities. Writing utensils such as crayons, pencils and markers will be used to write, draw and create. Colored paper and coloring books will too be used to keep the students mind stimulated while creating.
Giving my students basic supplies will ensure that all of the students in my class have the ability to keep learning by having them at home during this unprecedented time.
Giving these materials to my students while they are at home will keep their minds active and engaged through these new times we face.
