Natural Light for Learning!

My students need these soothing covers to create an inviting place to learn and help reduce stress and unnatural lighting from our florescent classroom lights.

My Students

Our classroom motto is, "Be Kind, Work Hard!" My students show this every day in the way that we work and learn together! My classroom is full of smiling faces ready to learn and be the best that they can be together.

I hope that the students who enter my classroom feel that they have a place they can call their own.

Even with the challenges, my students face on a daily basis they are excited to come to school each day and learn! They are excited when they get a new book, new school supplies along with items that ensure they are successful in the classroom and beyond! I want my student to have a place they can call their home and friends that seem like family. My students are eager to learn and want to become strong readers and writers, but this can only be accomplished with the right materials and support from people like you!

My Project

Students are in the classroom for more hours in a day than in their own homes, so they need lighting that will allow them to concentrate. Fluorescent lights can sometimes create distractions due to being too bright which can lead to eye strain as well as headaches.

Light covers are a great tool that diffuse the distraction of fluorescent lights by creating a softer and inviting environment for students.

I chose the color green and purple because it has been shown to have a soothing effect when it comes to behavior and moods.

I plan to use these particular light covers over each light in my classroom, but more specifically the student's reading nook so that they are able to read in a peaceful setting.
