My Students

I am a high school teacher, teaching grades 9-12. This is my 15th year teaching and the one thing that has remained constant is the challenge is to constantly find new, exciting and effective ways of delivering the required content. My students come from a wide array of backgrounds and what motivates one group does not necessarily motivate others.

I am absolutely dedicated and passionate about teaching.

I could not imagine doing anything else. Helping students make the connections that move them toward their futures in a positive way is the most rewarding way that I can imagine spending my life.

My Project

I am requesting funding to allow me to complete the National Board Re-Certification process for Technology Education. This encompasses ages 13-18. Through studying for, planning for, and implementing these processes into my daily routines my students will reap many benefits as I become a more effective teacher.

I will be a more knowledgeable teacher, have greater skills to meet students' needs, and be more keenly aware of how my teaching practices affect all students. My students will be offered a higher quality education due to my reflection of pioneers and great minds in the field of education, knowledge of child's play, awareness of the differing needs students may have, the impact of the learning environment, etc.
