This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am the Kindergarten-1st Grade Math Facilitator at a Title I school in Charlotte, North Carolina. The school provides students with a safe and stable learning environment in a sometimes violent and unstable neighborhood. The students are provided with free breakfast and lunch each day to ensure that they have the fuel they need to be active learners. Our school works hard to motivate our students to reach for the stars by promoting college and career readiness starting in kindergarten.
I believe that a zip code should not determine a child's future.
That is why my scholars need your help to provide the best nurturing and engaging learning environment to ensure their success. They are smart, loving, and incredibly gracious children who deserve the world.
My Project
The National Board certification process is an extensive portfolio that showcases my work as a teacher. This process helps teachers to deeply reflect on their practice and strive to be an accomplished teacher.
National Board Certification will help me to dive deeper into the Kindergarten math curriculum and provide the best instruction for my students.
Through building my portfolio, I will create lesson plans, video my lessons and analyze my instruction. I plan to complete the portfolio during the 2021-2022 school year. Upon completion, I will be recognized as a National Board Certified teacher.
