My Project

Natchez Elementary is a small rural school on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation in northeastern Nevada. I love that my students are proud of their heritage and are eager to continue to learn and live their traditions and culture.

As a way for students to explore future opportunities we will create a "Spotlight" project where students interview elders and leaders in their tribal community as well as neighboring tribal communities.

Our interviews will include the focus of a particular word, such as Strong. Students will engage in a one on one interview that highlights the interviewee sharing their journey, the challenges they have overcome, the success they have had and how the word "strong" has impacted their journey.
