My Project

Our class is a transition based program for students with special needs who are 18-22 years old and have graduated from high school. We learn daily living, social, functional academic, and vocational skills. Our students work hard learning how to be excellent employees and take care of themselves. One area that we can add as a part of learning daily living skills is how to incorporate exercise and relaxation techniques into our day. By having yoga mats, blocks, and straps we can practice healthy habits by adding yoga, stretching, and exercise to our days.

Self-care is an important part of our well-being that is often overlooked at the end of a busy day.

My goal is by making yoga, stretching, and exercising a part of our daily routine at school and incorporating it with all of our other responsibilities my students can carry this healthy habit on throughout their lives.
