My Students
My classroom is full of eager students just starting their school journey. They love learning and teach me something every day. They love stories, active learning and work stations. Teacher read alouds are their favorite part of the day. We are a title one school and are blessed to be a full day kindergarten. My students come from a variety of family, economic backgrounds and prior experiences. Thank you for helping these little smarties' "Once upon a time...." become a "Happily ever after!"
My Project
After teaching for twenty-three years, I have noticed many changes in children and their behaviors. Students often enter kindergarten anxious, unfocused and lacking self-control. I began incorporating Yoga into our classroom this year and found it to be very helpful for children to find success in social, emotional and academic areas. I would like to add more resources and make it accessible for all students. These new materials incorporate literacy and math into yoga practice. They also encourage partner work and sharing- another important early childhood life skill! We would enjoy these materials daily during our morning meeting!
