My students are curious, determined young people who come to school each day excited to learn all they can. They love to be the captains of their own learning, and they dive deep into learning with enthusiasm.
They are brilliant mathematicians, readers, scientists, writers, and scholars.
As fifth graders, they know that younger students view them as the leaders of the school. They do their best to model safe, responsible, and respectful behavior - the three pillars of our school community. Every day is a joyful learning adventure in our classroom!
My Project
My students are avid, passionate readers. This year, I am challenging them to read a variety of genres, including five mystery books. This means I need a variety of mystery books for them to choose from!
A well-rounded library is incredibly important for young readers.
The selected books will give my students a range of mystery books to read. I have included six different mystery series for them to dive into, including The 39 Clues, The Greenglass House, and The Book Scavenger. I have also included a copy of the modern classic The Westing Game.
It is my priority to enrich my students' reading lives. Giving them access to a wide range of genres helps foster their literary growth - and strong literacy skills will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
