My classroom has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic just as everyone else has been affected. The sad thing is that they are so young and in a way unable to understand what is really going on. The only thing they know right now is that their world has been affected. They can't seem to grasp why they aren't going to school, where are their friends, where are their teachers, and are all confused in their new routines. When talking to parents they tell me the students are asking when will they return to classes. For them, it was a sudden change with really no chance to explain to them what was happening. Now, I probably won't see my students again maybe ever.
Currently, they have been doing their learning online many times from their parent's cell phone since it's the only technology they have at home.
They have been doing it at home in the middle of all the craziness and on a small screen that sometimes is limited to only certain programs. Some may have tablets and maybe one or two have laptops but that is about it.
My students miss school and I miss them! The only way for me to stay connected with them right now is through technology and the only way for me to be able to teach them is through a computer screen. Not everyone has that ability right now since not everyone has a laptop or device that is for learning.
This material would definitely make a difference in my student's learning from home!
They can stay connected and won't miss a beat. I hope you are able to help my students.
