As a teacher from a high-poverty/low-income school, students and their families are not able to afford many of the necessary items needed for school let alone anything above and beyond. Our school is 96.9% socioeconomically disadvantaged, and students receive free lunch based on this factor.
My students are highly motivated and excited to come to school every day and learn new things.
They love to be involved with hands-on activities, as well as working in a group to create projects. Despite the challenges they face with being socioeconomically disadvantaged, I am looking to provide meaningful learning experiences that will enhance student learning and help them achieve academic excellence.
My Project
We are a classroom without a printer, and my class has expressed their desire to publish their social studies and science projects for Open House electronically and in color. I requested a color printer and ink so that my students will be able to this and more. One of my main goals for my students is that they are prepared for the future, and being able to publish their work electronically will help my students achieve that goal.
Your generation donation will allow my students the opportunity to print their work in class and see their social studies and science projects come to life.
Not only will they see their projects come to life, but they will also have a sense of pride when presenting their projects to their families.
