This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Students with disabilities are eager to learn, too ~ Let's make it easier for them to be successful!

My students have disabilities.

15% of our high school population receives support and services for handicapping condition(s). These students work hard to overcome their obstacles but it is not always easy as lack of funding is making our jobs more and more challenging.

My Project

My students with fine motor deficits will benefit from the retractable highlighters because removing and keeping track of the cap will not be another challenge in their day. Correction tape is much easier to work with than liquid paper. Sharpening pencils is a challenge that can easily be conquered with mechanical pencils. And chocolate protein drinks can help hungry students who stay after school for tutoring.

These materials will remind my students that there are options and support materials available that can help make their lives easier.

Our goal is that students go on to post-secondary institutions prepared, excited and hopeful about a successful experience.
