This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of my students have had little or no art education before. They walk into the art room eager to get started on their projects and when the bell rings, they do not want to stop.

The look I see on my students' faces when they create something original is a beautiful, shining, effervescent, glowing pride.

It is different from the pride of academic achievement or the success of winning an athletic event. Creation comes from the soul, and the look on a student's face reflects from the core of their being.

My Project

As of right now, my students use cell phones for photography but I want to upgrade with actual cameras. This equipment will allow students to better understand digital photography. Students will be able to create images for larger, more advanced assignments. Currently, my students are working with cell phone cameras which have limitations. Students will be able to put down their cell phones and experience photography through an actual camera. They are doing great work and love creating beautiful photographs but how great would it be to one day have a camera for each student to use and explore during each class period? Any help toward this goal will be greatly appreciated by my students.
