Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We want to make snowmen, gingerbread men, decorate winter tress, and do fun creative art projects BUT we do not have supplies!!
Welcome to our preschool class, where fun and learning never ends.
We need some supplies to help us with our fine motor skills! I am a special education teacher and I teach a preschool, self-contained class. My students have varied disabilities ranging from speech and language delays, cognitive delays, gross/fine motor delays, to autism. We spend our day doing many activities to help the students learn and develop skills they are delayed in.
My school is a Title 1 school and due to budget cuts and not enough funds for supplies, we are lacking art supplies in our classroom. The children love playing with play doh, but we are running out. We also do not have any play doh tools. We do art projects often, but we are lacking art supplies.
My Project
With the art supplies, my students will be able to do various art projects. The art trays will help us organize materials when we are doing art projects. Children love using their creativity with play doh, and my students will be able to have different colors of play doh and use them to make many wonderful creations. They will also have tools to use with the play doh. As stated before, this is a special education classroom and play doh is a great tool for the students. It helps with breaks and fine motor skills. By molding and playing with play doh, children will be able to strengthen their fine motor skills.
My project will make a difference because my students will finally have materials they need to help them enjoy center time in preschool.
They will be able to explore with many different art materials and use their creativity. Lastly, they will be able to express themselves through art!
