Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I love each and every one of my students. Despite my students' home situations, they come to school everyday eager and ready to learn. Many of the families are unable to provide their basic school supplies, and I don't want a student to go without. For many of my students, the classroom is one of the few places they can experience consistency. I want my students to flourish not only in school but in life. They are leaders who will change the world.

My Project

My classroom floor is made of tile. When the students are called to floor or when we hold our community meetings they have to sit on the hard floor. The tile is not comfortable, and the students can only sit their for a short amount of time.

My students need a rug, so they have a comfortable place to sit for instruction and community building.

This rug even has enough spots for each student to have their on square. The colored tiles will help, for classroom management purposes too.

I also, I have added on rug grippers to keep the rug from moving all over the tile, for safety reasons.

I appreciate any and all help regarding this project, and I know my kids will be thankful to sit on a rug instead of tile.
