I need to attend this conference because our school partnership with Head Start is new this year, and I need to learn how to best serve the Head Start families in my classroom.
My classroom is full of 17 amazing boys and girls who are entering school for the first time - 4K! We are busy all day singing songs, dancing, learning how to play with other kids, make art projects, and so much more! We are learning about Conscious Discipline to build connections between the students and staff in order to promote social emotional wellness. The students love to socialize with each other and with their teachers. We enjoy singing and doing activities that connect us into one School Family.
My Project
I am requesting to attend a 3-day conference that is all about Head Start and Conscious Discipline. My school has partnered with Head Start this year to provide extra resources to some of the families in our school district. Since Head Start is new to our district, I want to learn as much as possible about what I need to do to best serve my students who qualify for Head Start. This conference offers workshops, speakers and networking opportunities that will help me learn about Head Start and all the specific requirements that go along with this federal program. Our school is currently in the second year of implementing Conscious Discipline, and the founder will be the keynote speaker.
Learning directly from Becky Bailey will help me learn how to fully implement Conscious Discipline in my classroom with all of my students.
I want to be able to fully implement this program in my classroom and my school, but I especially want to learn how to specifically use Conscious Discipline to positively affect my Head Start families and students. Learning directly from her would be so beneficial to helping me understand the various aspects of this program.
