This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am an elementary special education teacher! Many of my students have sensory needs, or Autism.
I have found the use of fidgets and sensory toys help calm down children who are upset and unable to verbalize their feelings, helps them get used to new and different textures, and are just a whole lot of fun to explore!
Many of the items that I use in my classroom I end up sending home with students if I find that they really love that item or it helps them. Because of this, my inventory is very low. Any help towards bringing new sensory items to my classroom would be greatly appreciated!
