Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the Special Education Teacher for students in grades K-3. I work with 5 students who are in are in the Special Education Extensions program. This means they have been moved to my classroom from their base school to get extra behavioral and academic support. They are all nonverbal and require a lot of extra support. My students love sensory materials and enjoy getting to use hands on materials. They are full of love and smiles and make my days better!
My Project
My 5 special education students had their teacher leave mid year, and she took all her supplies with her! I was lucky enough to find this job and become their new full time teacher. But my past classroom teaching job was in 3rd grade, which means all I have is 3rd grade level books. My students range from 1st-3rd grade but they are all on a K-1 reading level. They need books with pictures!
Right now we don't have ANY books in our classroom!!
Please donate to help build my special education classroom build their classroom library with books on their reading level.
