My students need lab safety materials like large safety goggles and aprons that will fit them!

Do you remember what it was like to be in middle school? Do you remember being concerned about your appearance? This does not exclude science class, and having lab safety equipment in middle school that accommodates these concerns is what this project is all about.
My students live in an impoverished inner city area in Illinois.
They attend a charter school where our poverty rate is at 94%. We emphasize a college-bound environment where grit, drive, and growth mindset are our core values that our students strive to meet each day. I am the science teacher, and I see all fourth through sixth grade students each day. Many of the sixth grade students have been attending our school since it opened four years ago. They are their families are dedicated to our mission and goals.
When my sixth graders started at the school as third graders, their safety goggles fit their heads. This year, they decidedly don't. Students are hesitant to wear them seeing as how they are squeezing their heads and making them uncomfortable. With the middle school curriculum, there are more opportunities to wear the safety goggles, so it is paramount that I have goggles that will fit their heads more comfortably. Last year I received a local donation of old t-shirts to use as smocks with my students. Now that my students are aging into middle school, their sense of style is becoming more enhanced, and they are not thrilled to put on old, used t-shirts over their uniforms. So, I would like to get a set of uniform aprons for them to wear when working with low-toxic chemicals in the classroom. I am choosing the ones with frog anatomy on them because I firmly believe in making as many opportunities in school into learning opportunities as possible.
Having eye wear that fits and aprons that don't embarrass will allow my students to focus on their labs and their learning instead of being distracted by their science lab "accessories."
