I am a music teacher in a Title One school located in the Bronx. I teach grades K-4. As in most schools with low income students, music is a vital part of their education. Students always feel successful during my instruction. It is a fantastic feeling to see kids that are normally quiet and hard working, actually singing and playing instruments. My greatest dilemma is playing music on tape and cd's. The boom box that has been provided by my school is vastly outdated. It does not provide enough sound for my students. I feel that the children in my school would benefit from a new multimedia player. Not only will they be able to hear the music, but I will be able to record their wonderful voices. Being able to give children a tape of work sounds like a great end of year gift. Thank you for consideration.
