Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Students gather on the carpet daily for instruction. Most instruction is lead on the rug. We also use our rug for modeled, guided and independent reading. Students also love to engage with the many things they can learn just from looking at the rug. This particular rug can help enhance letter recognition and identify the states that make up the United States of America. Students donate snacks on a weekly basis as well as the teachers. As much as we appreciate the donations, both students and teachers have their own families that need these items. So we would love to have a contribution to our class to take some of the load off of us.
