My Students

I believe that all students can learn with the appropriate support and curricular resources. The students in my school come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. Within my school, approximately 68% of my students are Caucasian, 13% are African American, 10% Hispanic, 3% Asian American, or 10% multi-racial.

10% of my students have Individual Education Plans for a variety of learning disabilities and an additional 5% have 504 Intervention Plans.

In 9th grade Physical Science, 5% are English Language Learners.

My Project

Proper eyewear is vital to the safety of any classroom, especially now during a pandemic. Goggles included in this project will be used for laboratory use as well as for students/faculty who prefer to wear protective eyewear throughout the school day. Furthermore, the nitrile gloves are essential for skin safety when handling chemicals in the lab. With this protective equipment, more hands-on activities can be integrated in the curriculum to increase student engagement. Faculty members can utilize the glove protection in the lab setting as well as during deep cleaning in between classes.
