Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a low-income area of Los Angeles County. All of my students come from low-income families. We are a Title I-funded school where one hundred percent of our students receive free meals. My students always try their best at everything and anything despite the challenges that they face in their daily lives.

They are expected to have it less easily than others, but we learn that with hard work and consistency, they can be unique or different from the rest.

My students are so eager to learn that it makes coming to work easy!

My Project

My students often work on projects that have to do with community, financials, and culture. It is very important for my students to learn very early on the type of community they live in and its advantages and disadvantages. While doing this and learning about the financial disadvantages of things we also learn about culture and community. My students need a desk where I can provide a typing station as well as a centered printer where they can print all their reports, projects, charts, and anything else they may need. This will be a student-centered station where they can work and print material needed for class.
