Help me give my students pencils, paper, sharpeners, motivational posters, and coloring tools for projects in class. I want students to have a way of expressing themselves in their work.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I’m just starting and the students have been in school since July. The students range from grades 7-10. I want to give the students a unique and welcoming environment. They are working on creative writing, public speaking, and American literature. I hope to give these hardworking students a classroom they are proud to be in. They go to school pretty much year round, and with the high expectations from the school, I want them to feel appreciated in the classroom. Their work is important and many are getting ready to apply for college.
My Project
I am starting in a brand new classroom this year and need to add some color to it. There are few posters on the walls, and it’s a great space, but before the students come back from their 2-week break I want to spruce up the space. I want to create an environment that is memorable and welcoming. My students do not come from a background where they have a lot of money, so I want to have a classroom that is rich in color and happiness. They live in an area that can be financially challenged so I want to supply them with things they need to learn.
