This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is filled with energetic diverse young minds with great problem solving and critical thinking skills. The utilization of STEM activities allows them to enhance those skills while creating future troubleshooters with the use of Technological advancements.
Many of my students do not have the resources necessary to apply those creative ideas in or out the classroom and this is where I need your help.
Even though resources are low, all are eager to learn everything they can about today's technological devices. These young inventive minds are our future! Helping them to "think outside the box" gives them that extra push toward brighter futures and a more successful tomorrow!
My Project
The supplies needed will continually make a difference in my classroom because it will allow students to take their ideas from paper and make them more tangible. When supplies are not readily available, students become discourage and in some cases, lose interest in completing the project. I do not want this to happen.
I teach my students the difference between mock-ups and prototypes.
Prototyping allows my designers to make a representation of a design problem so they can experience a physical form of their idea. With the use of the 3d printer and having these supplies, my students see the importance learning supply and demand as well as of being responsible, prepared. Incorporating mathematical computations, engineering design principles, as well as, advancement in technology to create items needed in this 21st century keeps them equipped for the future.
