Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is composed of young boys and girls from different backgrounds, and most of them have lacked the opportunity to become independent learners because of their socioeconomic status or just lack of resources. Some of my students truly need a way to block out distractions in the classroom so they may focus on their learning, and others need alternatives in sitting so they can feel more engaged.
My students need noise-canceling headphones so they can focus, and flexible seating options so they may choose the best surroundings to complete their work.
I want to be able to provide a comfortable, safe environment that is conducive to learning for all my students, including my kiddos with special needs.
Sometimes, the place we sit in or the noises around us affect our academic progress more than we realize, and through these donations, my students would have the accommodations they need in order to feel more focused on their learning with little distractions.
My Project
These materials will help my students with special needs get the peace and quiet they need to focus on their learning. With comfortable places to sit while working and noise-canceling headphones, they will be able to work without distractions, which will reduce their levels of frustration and help them remain focused on what they need to do to succeed!
These noise-canceling headphones and two chairs will provide my special need students with a safe, comfortable, quiet space so they can work at their own pace.
While a lot of my students enjoy working in groups or with partners, my special needs students tend to feel overwhelmed. Some of them cannot focus even with quieter noises, so a classroom in full work mode can be too much. It is my hope that through these supplies, they will be able to isolate these distractions and enjoy learning more!
