My Students

I work with students from kindergarten to 4th grade in the resource setting. I teach students both in a virtual setting and onsite. My school is a Title I school and 70% of our students are economically disadvantaged. In the resource classroom, we have 40 students. These amazing students have many talents and strengths and all they need is tools and strategies to become successful.

Learning is exciting to my students but many of my students come to school needing social-emotional learning.

These problems inhibit my students' success. These students are willing to do their very best and I want to help them become successful.

My Project

My students come to school with multiple emotional and social setbacks that inhibit their learning. In order for my students to become successful, they need to be taught socially appropriate behavior and learn how to use calming strategies to control their emotions to be successful in the classroom.

These books will help me give my students the tools and strategies to help them become successful not only in school but in the real world.

Students come to my classroom for social skills and I will use these books to role play with them, read the books, and use the discussion questions to enable them to talk through their emotions. My hope is that these books will help my students to use strategies that we learn and practice when they are faced with their emotional outbreaks.
