My students are junior high school students full of energy and enthusiasm for life. Some of the classes I teach are remediation classes, so those students are often unsure of how successful they'll be in school.
After working with them intensely for a few months, I love to see the looks on their faces when they experience successes, big and small, here in my classroom.
This is what fuels my teaching energy supply. At the end of the day, it is all about the students.
My Project
I'm always looking for great new reads to engage my middle school readers. I teach the cotaught and remedial reading classes, so student choice is super important. I need to have books that will really engage my students.
The books I have selected here will give my students a large variety of books to choose from.
These books have great variety as far as length, subject and difficulty are concerned. Having books at hand to immediately recommend to reluctant readers makes a huge difference in getting readers hooked. I am also constantly looking for new and interesting books to read, so my hunt is never over.
