My students are a great group of students who are filled with a lot of energy. My students are a mixture of Brooklyn natives and recent immigrants to the country. My students enjoy being challenged and hands on learning. Global History can often be a challenging subject for many students. It covers a wide range of content years and difficult vocabulary to retain.
Students retain information better when they are able to work together in a fun and engaging way.
This is why we need support in obtaining supplies to support student engagement.
My Project
My students are a wonderful group that throughly enjoy a warm welcoming space along with hands-on, challenging activities. The walls of my classroom are bare at the moment because all extra money and energy is spent elsewhere in the classroom. The wall decals would be a wonderful addition to my classroom space creating a warm and welcoming environment. The decals are wonderful because they can be removed an reused multiple times.
The colored pencils and Breakout EDU kits are to support my students with hands-on engagement.
The Breakout EDU kits will be used to created various group based critical thinking challenges for my students to make the history curriculum more engaging. The kits allow students to work together and unlock puzzles once they have completed set challenges. The kits will support critical thinking skills, classroom engagement along with classroom community building.
