Students in my class are excited to explore the world of science! My third grade class includes low-income children and inclusion students that crave authentic, hands-on learning experiences. We are located in a small town in East Tennessee without a centralized science department.
It is my hope to transform our room into a realm of inquiry, experimentation, and growth so that all students can be successful.
My students are motivated learners with natural curiosities about the world around them. In fact, most of them tell me that science is their favorite subject! I want to give my kiddos ample meaningful educational opportunities.
My Project
These much-needed materials will be put to good use as we explore animal habitats, life cycles, food chains, energy, magnetism and messy chemical reactions!
With relevant and useful science equipment, my students will be highly engaged in learning while making meaningful connections to content.
Such interesting explorations can build a strong science foundation that will follow students through the years.
Magnifying lenses and safety goggles are necessary for basic science experiments. Without goggles, I am conducting experiments as the teacher instead of the students. I would like to see them use magnets as we approach this unit at the end of the year.
