My Students

I have an amazing, diverse group of kindergarten students! I have been teaching for 22 years and I have always believed in on going learning as an educator in order to help my students in every way possible. In recent years, I have found that my students' diversity has moved beyond the range of my knowledge base as a regular elementary education teacher. I am hoping to broaden my own knowledge in order to benefit my current and future students. I currently have 3 learning center students that spent preschool in a special education class and are now with me 60% of the day. In order for them to learn and grow, I must also learn and grow. I believe taking this course will help me in this effort. Thank you in advance for your support!

My Project

As my district and our state of California moves to placing students in the least restricted environment, my job as a regular elementary education teacher is changing. Students that were once only mainstreamed for short periods of the day are now finding a new home in primary classrooms - with teachers that are not always equipped. I welcome that change but also know I need to learn and grow if I am going to help my current and future students. I plan to take advancement courses in order to learn and grow which in turn will allow me to help my students to learn and grow!
