This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a Special Education teacher at a low income\poverty area, I watch my students face some daily challenges. Our elementary school is located at Hermosa which is a Latino community. I intend to make their learning experience a significant one by providing them with the tools they need. My students are also students with special needs. They come to school every day with new hopes for learning and they find a warm family of teachers that have passion for what they do.

My Project

My students are Special Education students and struggle with reading. The Wizcom Reading Pen will give an equal access to the General Education curriculum to the students who cannot read and are still struggling with basic reading skills due to their disability. It is very hard to find books related to the class topic and at the same time at their reading level. These Pens will read for them during the class and they will be able to focus more in the unit skills rather than struggling to understand what the book says and at the end of the day, prevent them from being unmotivated.
