This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very special because they live in a low income community and that don't frustrate their inspiration to learn. They come every morning and every day with a positive motivation and always they want to do their taks, but their family don't have enough income to buy their school supplies. Their parents have only one part-time job or none. When it is snack time, some of them cry because their family sent them without food.
My beautiful learners are unique because the majority of them are English Language Learners, foster kids, ESE with speech problems and Attention Disorders and some of them came from Puerto Rico, after loose everything with Hurricane Maria.
They learn based on their interest and learners profile. They are my inspiration to teach with passion and vocation each and every day!
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students learning because they are English Language Learners and some of them are ESE kids.
They need to work with concrete materials, feel textures, practice letter sounds, and Kindergarten writing and reading skills.
My fantastic children needs to practice daily with cvc words and sight words to learn new vocabulary, phonics puzzles to learn how to soun it out, ink pads to use with stamp letters and create words, positional words to lean how to identify and describe positions, and different writing journals to can meet their grade level spelling expectation.
My learners needs upper case tactile letters to learn that concepts using their senses, making that connection with their brain to have an effective learning. That will help my ESE kids to remember the letters easily.
They need flip and read sight word sentences because with the colorful pictures they can remember better a word and vocabulary to learn English and have fun at the same time. Also, that supply will help to learn the writing skills as punctuation marks and to master the goal to learn the dolch sight words that they need to know to be ready to first grade.
