Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a special education, low-income class in New York City. My students are in second grade. They are a great group of dynamic learners and have various learning needs.
Organizational supplies and concrete materials will enhance students learning to specifically target learning goals and social skills.
My students benefit from repetitive and reusable work, hands-on materials, and organized tools to use within daily routines. My students are unique and continuously work on building their independence. This includes social emotional learning.
My Project
Help students get comfy in their learning environment! Without being comfortable, it is hard to learn. Different types of seating will help our students be ready to learn reading, writing, math, and social emotional skills.
Who doesn't like to be comfortable with a great book?
The couches will give students a great place to read, and the couch protector will help us keep it clean! The light covers will let kids escape the harshness of the lights while reading with the comfort of the blue colors around them.
These materials will help students thrive and enjoy their learning every day!
