Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Everyday my students come to school with positive attitudes and the brightest smiles we could ask for! They are so excited to be in school and curious to know what sort of activity we will be doing in the classroom each day. I truly look forward to helping them learn and preparing them for kindergarten.
The area our school is located in, is a low income neighborhood, our students all receive a free lunch and snack everyday.
We are always working with our families to ensure our students are getting the necessities in order for them to be successful. No matter what, my students come to school ready to learn their letters, play, read stories, count, and sing songs. It is truly inspiring to watch my students grow and learn throughout the year.
My Project
Dinosaurs, Pumpkins, Plants..... what will we learn about today? That is my favorite question a student can ask! The curiosity that each of my students bring to school everyday truly amazes me. They will learn about the great big world outside of our classroom over the course of eight months. These Scholastic magazines focus on specific topics, there are many students who may have little to no access to resources to learn about these topics.
These Scholastic readers are non-fiction text that will teach and engage students in variety of activities.
They provide real life photos, and activities to promote family involvement as well. I know that this will be an excellent resource in my classroom and will help build language development, movement, and social development skills.
