Musicians on the Move! Help us move equipment and data!
Help me give my students the muscle to move equipment with the Convertible Hand Truck and data with the 7 port USB hub. Performances require that students become their own "road crew" to move instruments and sound equipment.
I teach high school vocal music in a Title I district. All students in our county qualify for free breakfast/lunch. Additionally, our county has just recently been hit with both hurricanes Matthew and Florence! Having a regular creative outlet through music is not just part of a well-rounded education — it is essential for a student's emotional health & well-being. In addition to helping them be happy, healthy, and productive students, many of our graduated students have gone on to pursue the arts whether that be through teaching, performance, or production.
The music curriculum integrates many subject areas to include technology, math and science (rhythms, intervals, graphs, physics, sound engineering) My students perform for community events as well as local school and district events.
These students are full of energy and absolutely love the time they spend with each other. These students work so hard in each performance, I want to help make them feel special and appreciated in any way I can.
Our students learn about music, music technology, and performance; all which reinforces their literacy & speaking skills while building relationships with others throughout the county.
My Project
Sound equipment and instruments endure wear and tear from loading the buses for performances. Being able to move equipment on wheels using the Convertible Hand Truck Continuous Frame not only prolongs the life of the equipment but saves the backs of our student performers! Your donation will help make the loading and unloading easier; saving wear and tear on our equipment and our students! We are always in need of an efficient way to connect midi instruments. The Staples 7 port USB Hub will provide the connections needed to enhance our concerts and recordings. Whether it is physical labor or data transfer, our student musicians are always on the move! Having these resources will save time which can be used to develop talent!
