My Students

Have you ever been bored by a subject in school? I would like to enrich many of my units this year with music and drama!

I am lucky to begin my third year of teaching with 25 second graders that I will loop with into third grade.

Our school is a brand new arts magnet with emphases on arts integration, technology, and global learning. Though we area magnet school and our boundaries have changed, the majority of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch and the school receives Title 1 funding as a High Poverty school. Our school serves many home languages and families that come from all over the world. Our students have so much to learn from one another!

My Project

Last year, my students and I dipped our toes into the drama pool with a Bad Wolf Press play, Goldilocks: The Musical. Unfortunately, we did it late in the school year, or I would've immediately ordered another play; it was such a hit! Even my reluctant and struggling readers spent free reading time pouring over the script for weeks! Our play was hilarious and every student wanted a role. I have chosen four new plays that will complement our our curriculum beautifully: Grammarosaurus,Geology Rocks!,U.S. Geography, and The Nutrition Show: Hansel and Gretel.

Donating to this project will integrate humor, music, and drama into our science, social studies, and language arts curricula.

This project will ensure our class has so much fun with each of these important topics!
