Help me give my students eight sets of Boom whackers, storage bins for them, other storage bins to organize other assorted musical instruments and two colorful sets of motivating bulletin board sets
I teach music in a small rural school district in Oklahoma. Our Early Childhood Center is filled with lively, enthusiastic, cheerful Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students. They are all spirited four, five and six-year-old musicians and singers that love to come to music. I try everyday to not only find new ways to inspire them with music, but also to instill a love of music in their tiny bodies.
My Project
Because of Co-vid, I am seeing a huge decline in their social skills, language skills, fine motor skills, large gross motor skills and exposure to to the arts, especially the foundations of music and rhythm.
The students in our early childhood building and elementary building have been quarantined and sheltered for so much of their early developmental years.
These boom whackers, color music classroom decorations and storage bins will help me organize the boom whackers and other instruments I already have. They will also allow me to make the instruments available and visible to the students to get them excited about music while also teaching basic music skills, abilities and understanding. Fun, colorful, noisy, hands-on manipulatives make learning about music appealing, engaging, stimulating, and most of all, enjoyable.
