My school has ten kindergarten classes, nine English speaking, and one bilingual class. As the music teacher, I get the opportunity to see and interact with all the kids. The come to me with all sorts of backgrounds, experiences, and abilities. I want to give them a strong and fun introduction to music.
Every student I have been eager to learn anything and everything I present to them.
It amazes me how much they remember. They are truly sponges for knowledge. I hope I can continue to present music to them as an important and fun skill. I hope they carrying what they learn from me throughout their lifetime.
My Project
Kindergarteners have a hard time with personal space. The markers I'm requesting will help them learn to stay in their space, and out of the space of others. I also wish to be able to incorporate musicals games with the markers as well. One game I plan to play is called Musical Islands. They will start with the largest marker to dance on and work their way down to have to try and just dance on the star. I think this will not only be a challenge, but the kids will love it. Even at this age, they love a challenge.
